This Privacy Policy explains what information opn.my (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our URL shortening and analytics service, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using opn.my you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store plain-text passwords).
- Links you create: the original URL, the short code, an optional expiration date, and the IP address used to create it (for abuse prevention and daily limits).
- Click analytics: when someone opens a short link we record the time, IP address, device/browser/operating system, referrer, UTM parameters, approximate location/timezone, and whether the visitor appears to be a bot.
- Usage data: standard analytics about how you use the site (see Cookies below).
How we use your information
- To provide the core service — creating short links and showing you click analytics.
- To enforce daily limits and prevent spam, abuse, and harmful links.
- To secure your account and send transactional emails (such as password resets).
- To understand and improve how the product is used.
Data retention
Short links and their associated click analytics are automatically deleted after a maximum of 90 days. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete it.
Service providers we use
We share limited data with trusted providers only as needed to run the service:
- MongoDB Atlas — database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Resend — sending transactional emails.
- Google Analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage statistics.
- Google Safe Browsing — checking submitted links for malware and phishing.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing info@opn.my.
Children
opn.my is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
